5th-13th September 2020
The Leeds Festival of Kindness, Compassion & Wellbeing will be a multi-venue festival comprising over 40 events both large and small, hosted in different places – neighbourhoods, schools, organisations & businesses – as well as in the Civic Hall, Leeds Market & Leeds Minster plus other venues in the city centre in September 2020. Be part of it. Be the change you want to see in the world. Put the dates in your diary now!
The festival will enable schools, faith groups, communities and businesses to self-organize activities in their own spaces as well as attending talks, films, food and arts events at central venues in the city centre. Our aim is to showcase and celebrate the great work being done by the thousands of individuals, voluntary groups, communities, businesses and the Council in the areas of kindness, compassion and wellbeing to promote community connectedness and wellbeing
The Leeds Kindness Revolution aims to give people an experience of what a city of kindness, compassion and wellbeing could be like, and a glimpse into how things could be different for everyone, including those who are most often excluded.
“Random acts of kindness are anything but random. They are a conscious choice of who we want to be and the world we want to see”.
“We invite you to join us in co-creating a festival and a city that is welcoming, courteous and inclusive – in the parks and public spaces, on the buses, on the trains, on the roads, in the city centre and the shopping centres, in schools, in businesses, communities and neighbourhoods.”
We want to make Leeds a great place to live, work and play, a city where no one is left behind. Most of us can be at our best, creative, generous, courageous and productive selves when we feel we belong, feel safe and secure. Kindness, compassion and wellbeing build individual and organisational capability and care-ability by creating a supportive environment for a good life that everyone can and should be part of. Kindness & Compassion are the ground in which Wellbeing can flourish. Join us if you would like to see a kinder world.
“Celebrating the power of kindness can set the context for more conversations about what success, flourishing and effectiveness really mean!”
